The Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai will be back from 22nd to 24th November at the SEC – Shanghai Exhibition Center – promising a full immersion in the beauty and quality, luxury and elegance of Made in Italy goods. This third edition was presented at a packed press conference in Beijing, attended by Ettore Francesco Sequi, Italian Ambassador to China, Marco Sabetta, General Manager, Salone del Mobile.Milano, Andrea Vaiani, Exhibitions Director, Salone del Mobile.Milano, Amedeo Scarpa, Trade Commissioner, Italian Trade Agency ICE in Beijing and co-ordinator of the ICE offices in China and Mongolia, and Stella Ma, Conference & Events Director, VNU Exhibitions Asia.
The Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai 2018 will see an extraordinary uptake by more than 100 top Made in Italy brands, with an increase in exhibition space. The exhibition promises Chinese visitors three days of design and luxury furnishing, in the same categories as those showcased in Milan:
Design – products embodying functionality, innovation and great looks
xLux – products that marry classic elegance and contemporary design
This year’s programme again includes a number of opportunities for listening and exchange with the Master Classes, an event consolidated by the Salone del Mobile.Milano, in which leading Italian and international architects share with the public their thoughts and views on hot topics concerning the development of the sector in China and in the world.
SaloneSatellite Shanghai, which provides another opportunity for dialogue, will be back, brimming with expectation and projects from talented designers under 35. Young Chinese designers, university and design school students will be presenting their projects. The top three, chosen by a jury of sectoral professionals, will receive SaloneSatellite Shanghai Awards and an invitation to take part in the 2019 edition of SaloneSatellite in Milan.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group, an institutional partner of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2018, will again bolster its support for design with its presence at the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai, in the firm belief that this event also provides a unique opportunity for Italian businesses to further their access and expansion abroad.
Partnerships with three leading food sector brands have also been confirmed: Ca’ del Bosco, illycaffè and S.Pellegrino.
